Diff/Transfer Case Plugs

The plugs on my diffs and transfer case have rusted a bit, and I would like to replace them. Anyone know where I can find a part number? I know this isn't absolutely necessary, but they have some roughness around the edges I would like to fix, and the rust has made them become a bit loose in the sockets.

I imagine they will only be about $10, so if I can throw them into another order, I would like to. Also, anyone have part numbers for the gaskets? Do the front and rear diffs, and the transfer case use the same gasket? I have the P/N for the rear diff, but not sure if it is the same for the others.

If you know a place I can easily look up these tough to find part numbers, I'd love to see it.

No, The t case has two of the same kind of gaskets but different from the others, the fill/drain for the rear and the fill for the front I believe share the same gasket and the drain for the front is different. I know for sure one of the front...either the drain or fill is different but can't remember which at the moment.

Ok, my new favorite site...

I can finally find the numbers for all those stupid little bolts nuts and washers that have all lost a couple head sizes to rust.

I wish they just included the part numbers on the pictures in the FSM. I am finding myself writing them all on the pics and it is super useful.

Just picked up a new front diff drain plug, and it takes a 10mm, whereas the old one was 12mm, what's up with that? It has a magnet, so I'm guessing it IS supposed to be a drain plug, just found it weird they would change the size of the allen key for it. Part # is the same as above too.

You should by drain plugs for fill plugs that way you have an extra magnet there to catch metal particles as the slosh by.

I know this is an old thread, but actually the part number for the Rear Differential Fill Plug is 90341-18006. The plug is a 24mm bolt just like the Rear Diff Drain plug, except it doesn't have the magnet. The part # listed above looks like its for the Front Diff Fill Plug because it has the 10mm hex. Just an FYI in case someone like me is searching around for part #'s.

Just want to thank everyone for their contributions on this thread, and a bump for those that are planning on replacing their fluids soon. I ordered everything on here except for the oil pan plug / gasket (super cheap at Amazon, I got 10 gaskets at once) and came out to around $40 shipped from Camelback. Having had to deal w/ a stripped plug, I believe it is wise to just replace all of them when performing this maintenance. Very nice to copy / paste into Camelback, took me 4 minutes

Old thread, but to add to this, I've discovered the drain plugs on our 4Runners are of the following thread spec:

M18x1.5: Manual transmission, transfer case, rear differential
M24x1.5: Front differential drain plug
M12x1.5: Oil drain plug

I noticed the transmission and transfer case don't come with a magnetic drain plug like the rear and front diff, so I was going to buy some generic magnetic plugs off eBay. Does anyone know if these plugs need to be of low clearance type?

I wish I had found this earlier. I spent 1/2 hour at the dealer parts desk waiting for the guy to find the right parts, and he still got one of the plugs wrong.
