Diff washer , which side.

Hi.

If you look at the link these are washers need to the differential and transfer case. My question is the shiny silver washer, 12157-10100. They are not flat on both sides. One side is slightly raised. My question is does the flat side of the washer press against the bolt or the differential housing?

I am guessing the flat side is against the bolt.
