Different brand pads harder on rotors than others?

Just curious, are there brands or types of front brake pads that tend to be harder on the stock rotors than others?

I can't speak to specific brands, but semi-metallic pads tend to wear through rotors quicker than other options. However, I replace my rotors when I replace my pads, so it's a non-issue for me. (Stupid BMW got me into that habit)

Yes.

In general, the more aggressive the pad, the harder it will be on the rotor.

I've found the cheap pads will chew rotors to crap while the expensive ones aren't so hard on them and generally carry lifetime warranties so you never have to buy pads again. Just warranty them out when they get to worn out.

in january i bought some cheap autozone organic pads, they wore out completely about one month ago. I upgraded to the ceramic pads, they are smoother and quieter, but they arent quiet as strong as the old pads, but ill take smooth over strong any day while crawling, and driving around town. the organic pads used to shudder if i tried to crawl forward with them.

Lol I go with OEM and am happy with them, I figure lifetime pads means they don't wear out. I want my pads to wear out not my rotors.

No such thing as life time pads. Just lifetime warranties. And I've yet to replace a rotor on any vehicle I've owned that wasn't purely for an upgrade by running the expensive pads.

sorry, the ceramic pads arent as strong when braking. haha, what i mean is the organic pads slowed my truck down more quickly with less brake input.
