Different factory leathers?

Was there different types of leather used depending on model and package on the 3rd gens? I'm seeing leather that is shiny and somewhat loose fitting and soft looking to more of matte finish that is very taut in the 99-01's I've been looking at.

Was there a difference in SR5 leather and Limited leather?

I do not believe so. Some dealers put aftermarket leathers on sr5 models.

Factory leather was only available in Oak color on the SR5 and Limited. The SR5's were only available as mechanically adjustable with the "Sport Seat" package and the Limited was only available as power adjustable. The foam and leather covers for both trims are the same.

Port leather is leather installed at the port that your truck arrived in, maybe the dealer if the original owner wanted it bad enough. This leather was available in Oak, Moon Mist, and Gray colors and was made by an aftermarket supplier. The patterns in how the port installed leather was stitched is noticeably different from how the factory leather was stitched. Also, port leather could be ordered to be perforated.

As for the texture, the two types of leather should be similar.

Mine has what I'm sure was called leather but I swear its vinyl, my wife's limited with leather is totally different from mine. I can see a fabric backing in some of the worn spots on mine but I never knew of any to have vinyl??? I've always wondered what the heck I have

Would you have pics of it? I know that the side bolsters of the factory installed leather seats are made on vinyl. Kind of annoying considering that my seats have no tears aside from the vinyl on the side bolsters. I may just get them redone in leather or buy a whole new cover.
