Differential Drop Poll, Should I Do It?

Differential drop, is it a good idea?

  • Yes, a differential drop is a good idea and is beneficial to CV angles when you have over 3" of lift

  • Meh, it doesn't do any good really, but isn't going to put too much stress on your drive shaft

  • Heck no! It doesn't have any benefit, only moves it a 1/2" anyway, and stresses your drive shaft

The guy who sold me my 4runner gave me a bunch of stuff, including a differential drop kit.

Should I?

Or is ithere a waste of time, or worse, as some say?

I put one on and don't notice much of a difference at all, the geometry of the mounts make it more or less worthless. If you had CV binding at full droop and needed to squeak out a very little extra angle relief would be the only reason. I think about taking it off every time I pull my skid plate and drop the spacers but would have to find the old short bolts and then conclude to leave it.
