I just serviced both my front and rear differentials along with the transfer case on my 2000 T4R Limited 4WD.
On the transfer case and front differential, I found a trick to keep the oil from shooting out like a geyser when you remove the drain plug. I loosened the fill plugs just to make sure they would come out before I removed the drain plug. By leaving the fill plugs in, then removing the drain plugs, you can capture the oil in a pan right beneath the drain plug. The oil "gurgles" out. Once most of the oil is out, then remove the fill plug entirely. The rest of the oil will drain out easily. I learned this the hard way. I did not do this on the transfer case and oil shot out like it was under pressure. Left a mess on the driveway that I had to clean up with degreaser and a pressure washer.
