Digital Clock...

This is probably the worn forum to post about this, but wasn't sure where else to post.

The digital clock thats in my 99 4-runner is broken and was gonna get a new one from the dealer, how much can a cheap little digital clock cost, right? Well that cheap little clock runs $300 new form the dealer!! Isn't that just f'in stupid?
Anyone know of some online salvage yards where I can find one....besides ebay?

First of all....my sympathy. I have the same problem with my 98 4 Runner. It would be intermittent. To get it to come back on I would tap it. Well, I tapped it too hard and it fell back into the back of the dash somewhere. I have tried to get it out but it appears to be impossible. You can't get what you can't see.
So I bought a simple LCD clocl and glued it in where the original one was....works fine except it's not lit so you can't see it at night. You have to take the whole dash apart to replace it. The one I bought cost 7.98 at the hardware store. Good luck.

Check ebay... I'm not sure if they use the same clock as the older models, but you can find those clocks pretty cheap.

If it looks like this one, email me, I have a spare to sell

....problem is, I can't replace what I can't see. The original LED clock is down inside the dash. I don't feel like taking the whole dash apart...bagaworms....so I'll just live with the LCD clock.

Solved: 3rd generation Toyota 4Runner digital clock repair DIY (aka tooth surgery)

....problem is, I can't replace what I can't see. The original LED clock is down inside the dash. I don't feel like taking the whole dash apart...bagaworms....so I'll just live with the LCD clock.

It's actually not hard to remove the center cluster IF (and this is the big IF), IF you know how.

So far, two DIYs have shown two different removal procedures depending on which center cluster you have.
