Dilemma after 3" revtek lift

Hey all,

Just installed a 3" revtek lift on my 2000 4runner. Running 285/70/17 Toyo At2's.

Here's my dilemma and hopefully you guys can help/make suggestions.

I'm very happy with the lift. 3" in the front and 2.5" in the rear i believe. Before i lifted it it had a very small sag in the back and now it seems to have a little more sag...it has 214k miles on it and runs amazing for the mileage(i bought it about 6 months ago, did all the maintenance and then my co-worker rolled his tacoma and i came across an amazing wheel/tire combo that i couldnt pass up, thus the lift).

Right now it doesnt rub at all(which i was surprised, i thought i was going to have to do a little trimming). But i'm afraid when i go to do a little offroading it will rub alot.

Pretty sure it has the stock springs struts and shocks...still rides great though. So here's what i'm wondering.

I'm guessing with 214k the springs have settled alot. I know 3" is about all you can go with IFS, but i'd like to get just a little more lift. Like an inch. and also get the rear up just a tiny bit.

I was thinking of going with bilstein 5100's... fronts would have an adjustable strut so i think that would help...rears they say they are for a 3" lift.

Can i get 99 tall springs and that will put the rear where it should be? And then click the bilsteins up a notch to help the front and call it good?(I know this would put alot of preload on the springs).

What i do NOT want to happen is put the CV's at too steep of an angle, and i also dont want to have the rear have alot of rake. If anything I'd just like another inch out of the front and like an inch and a half from the rear.

So should i get 99 springs for the rear and set the bilsteins up a click and that will give me what i want, or should i just order all 99 springs, put the bilsteins on the lowest setting and that will give me what i'm after? HELP GUYS!

I will post pics soon so you can judge based on how its sitting too.

Is that Revtek lift a spacer lift?

If so how do the CV's look now? Did you install a diff drop?

How does it drive with the old coils? There is no doubt they have settled but when you go real high the body tends to have a lot of roll. I've ridden in a 3rd gen with rear spacers and the rear end seems very disconnected. Most suspension lifts require an adjustment to the panhard bar which if often over looked.

Yes its a spacer lift. Came with a diff drop that i installed, the cv's dont look bad right now(they are up a little bit but nothing extreme).

Honestly it drives the same. I drive exactly the same...doesnt feel anymore top heavy. What happens if you dont adjust the panhard bar? I disconnected it when i installed the rear spacers and then when i lowered it it dropped right back into place and i slid the bolt in...so i assumed it was okay.

I really need to find a place to flex the suspension somewhere to see how bad it rubs...Just didnt know which route to go if/when i need to go up another inch. I dont really wanna do a body lift...

The panhard bar centers the axle under the frame. At its stock length the axle is moved to the right side (I believe) after lifting from stock height. The raised CG and moved axle make for less than stock handling.

i put the same lift on my 97. i replaced the front struts since i had to take it appart anyway. and the rear shocks were just repalced before i lifted it. i didnt adjust the panhard bar. i measured it and its off 1/2" off. i also added wheel spacers. My cv axles are leaking after 4k miles with it installed and i did the diff drop too. i wouldnt go any higher.

I did the same on my 98. 3" in the front 2.5" in the rear. I usually roll around with a couple hundred pounds in the rear (its a work vehicle) and i also feel like the rear is too low. I replaced springs and struts all around with factory replacements when i did the lift. Now im thinking i want a higher rear spring to give it a little rake. But after a couple months and a couple thousand miles it looks like its levelling out now that everything is settled. I still want some rake tho. going to upgrade the rubbers now that i have some extra room in the wheel wells

id say a body lift is the way to go, you shouldnt lift the front more than three, and your cvs will start leaking at some point because of the age and new angle.
