Anyone out there into dirtbiking or atvs? All my friends are avid riders, but I've never had a bike. My uncle just have me his stepson's old one. It's a 1986 80cc Honda 4Stroke. Love it as a first bike to get comfortable on, but i'm definitely moving to a 250 later.

Used to ride an IT 175 (First bike) and then a YZ 250 which was a scary thing. 0 to full throttle with a quarter turn. :D

Was some time ago though, I always think about getting back into it bu t thenthink of all the ways I would probably kill myself now :D A quad might be more my speed these days. Hmm.....

Did a trip to Mikes Sky Ranch a while back...

I've been riding dirt bikes since the age of 6. I've owned several over the years. The current one is a '95 KTM 550 MXC. Since the disappearance of the big-bore 2-strokes from the marketplace, I haven't had much incentive to replace it.

The engine in it's current form is a high C.R. beast that makes my buddies CR500 feel anemic in comparison. It's almost more dangerous to kickstart, than it is to ride.

I had a Kawasaki Prairie and loved it.

I recently came across (upon recommendations from forum members) a Polaris Ranger side by side.

Sadly, I'm too old for a dirt bike.

I don't know your age, but I do know some guys in their 60's that ride dirt bikes regularly.

I have two girls (one on the outside and one on the way)--I guess the wife makes 3. She says that my life insurance policy isn't enough to provide for them if I want to ride dirt bikes and motorcycles. I have a thing for speed, apparently.

She does like to fart around on the side by side on our property, tho, and wants to try using the snow plow attachment the next time we have a blizzard.

Damn, you serious!

I'm actually bike-less at the moment. I will probably be getting another 2 stroke MX bike soon. Might end up with a 14 YZ250, or I might get another KTM. Wouldn't mind getting back on a 125 either, they are just so much fun.

I also want another supermoto, but something more streetable. That Husky was a rocket, but it was also a hand grenade. Very high maintenance Italian single, and parts were scarce and expensive. Don't want another bike like that. Been thinking long and hard about a DRZ400SM. It's a bit of a pig, but it's stone reliable.

I've ridden offroad for 20 years and 15 of those I've participated in the AMA National Dual Sport Series, maybe a half dozen national two day dual sports a year with my dad. Great hobby. I've had a variety of dirt bikes over the years, right now is just a plain old '05 CRF250X with a few misc hard parts and suspension upgrades, nothing special.

JBecker that husky is sick.
LandCruiser I know guys in their 80's that still ride dual sports. I've seen some impressive set ups for older guys who still get the thrill, very specific set up smaller bikes like CRF230L's that are easier to get a leg over and they don't need the brap of a 450.

my last few bikes:

92 yz 125

85 honda 250r three wheeler

89 cr 250

93 banshee

i dont have nothing right now, im thinking of getting a side by side or
an older sand rail two seater with lots of balls.

im hopefully picking up a couple small machines for the kids in the next few weeks.

a 2003 Suzuki jr50,
and then possibly a Yamaha ttr50 and a 2004 crf70.

im looking at a couple different ttrs right now, one is an 07, the other an 05. just trying to work out a deal on one.

I started on a Suzuki DR650. Fun dual sport to explore the trails and back roads of Vermont. Sold that and got a Yamaha WR250f. More fun, less weight more speed. Sold that for a John Deere D110 riding mower. Less fun, but it NEVER tries to kill me like the Yammie did! Plus is has two cup holders.

I thought this thread would have had more action in it. Not many dirt riders in here I guess.

Anyway I got a price of $6450 on a left over 13 YZ 250. Hopefully I'll pick it up next week.
