For some reason even with the number of yards in the Houston area, I haven't had any luck finding any 1 Gens around for parts. I might start piecing things together over time for some manual windows cause I do like the idea of keeping it simple.

Good news is I gave the control box a little electrical component "drop kick" and everything is now working. I doubt it will last long so I'm gonna go ahead and get the relays and what not ready to make my own switch panel in the center console. SV I think it was you that posted a schematic of a back window setup. I copied the picture for my notes a while back and I plan on just adding to that set-up for all three windows.

yes that worked out perfect!! I used it and have had no troubles.. Check out parts express for the relays and sockets.. I got everything shipped for about 12.

Heck yeah man. That's why we spend the money on these things isn't it? Well it looks like next years "Classic's Meet" is gonna be in Ouray, CO. Maybe you could make it over that way. I think for 2015 we need to look at some East Coast trails.

It would be cool to try and do Coast Guard wheeling event somewhere as well. We had 35 of us at the Wounded Warrior weekend from 4 different units. It was badass.

I was finally able to spend some time on the 4Runner the last couple of days and I am happy to say that the crazy rusty fenders are gone. After some POR-15, fiberglass, bondo, tape and some bedliner here is what she looks like now.

Next will be my sliders. They actually came in about a month ago. I just haven't had time to tackle them yet.

OP, I'm looking for a 1st Gen as a toy to take my 7 year old out in too. I showed him one with the top off and now he's hooked too.

Finally got the CB cable routed and my antenna mounted. I played around with different attachment points for a couple of days using hose clamps and the left rear seemed to work out well. Made a simple "L" plate and a backing plate to go inside the quarter panel and bolted it right up. My list of little things for Moab is getting smaller. Too bad my list of "BIG" things is getting longer........

Yeah my Son loves it when I take the top off and take him and his friends to school. Pretty cool for the soccer games as well.

Ordered my sliders from Low Range Offroad. Although they were not advertised as such, they appeared on the web site to be Trail Gear sliders. Once I received them this was confirmed as the "TG" plates that you have to order separate on other sites, were already welded into place.

I have been trying to make time to get 220 added to the garage and learn how to weld with the Lincoln Arc Welder I have sitting in the corner. With the Moab trip fast approaching I came to accept this wasn't going to happen so I took it down to a machine shop and had them installed. I would have done it a little different but at the end of the day they are on. Next time I will definitely be doing the work myself.

I picked up a top from a friend after helping with an engine remove/install and decided to try to make a little safari top out of it. I have a little bit of work to do on the inside, that freaking glue Toyota used on the headliner is a beast, but all that will have to wait till after Moab. My main goal was to get the cutting, sanding, and quick paint job done so I could leave my main top at the house.
