Dirtyfingers' build thread..

Hey guys I figure that I would start a build thread beings I haven't much to do while I'm on the ship. Over the next couple of years there are going to be some pretty promising mods done to my rig. But for now I'm only going to do from the first day I got it till present.

Current mods done are:
1. Toytech Ultimate lift
2. Audio goodies
3. 315/75/16 vision wheels
4. CB communications
5. TRD Supercharger (SOLD)
6. 1" Body lift
7. Some tires I found on the side of the road
9. URD 7th (SOLD)
11. CBI rear plate bumper with swing out (SOLD)
12. TBU
13. Fueled by the power of rock n' roll
14. 2004 Tundra V8 swap using 4runner T-case
15. ARB bumper
16. lights, lights...and more lights
17. 98’ Tacoma manual hub conversion
18. Soon...

The day I got it back in 2012 was a great deal the guy had it on CL for $6,200. I was able to talk him down to $3,500 because of the paint on the rig was in such bad shape. And because he thought something was terribly wrong with the transmission. So I bought it and drove it home that day. I knew it was a shift solenoid and was an easy fix. So I did that and drove home a 4runner with only 120k miles for under $4k. In the picture is my buddy that helped me talk the guy down.

I did put clearance lights on it from a 90s Chevy. I always wanted to do this to my old truck but I sold it. It was a personal preference kinda deal so it's okay if no one likes my idea haha I drive it you don't.

I routed the hoses through a hole in the front end to keep them from moving too much

Finally a pic of the bumper I got from 4xinnovations. The pic is the same friend who helped me get my rig where it is today.

Nice! I hope you like it I go to school at the same place those are made, I am hopefully going to pick one up too.

Oh I will, I just have to get back home to Texas and pick it up. Next on the list is a CBI rear bumper. Had my eye on the hybrid for awhile.

Found some old pics when I was hitting up a place behind my neighborhood (same place I got my old sport trac stuck.) and decided to post them up. Also some good pics of the clearance lights haha for anyone thinking of doing the mod themselves.

Oh I can't wait to get it...I mean...get these wheels on Bahahaha they are going to look so JADSCNSDIADI! < that was me spazzing out. Sorry about that. Gotta stop banging the keyboard every time I get excited.

Not really an update, but out of this thread lacking me being able to work on my SiR5, I ordered my rock sliders with the kickouts from @4xinnovations. Adam has been very helpful in answering all my annoying questions haha. I know that right now this is just the "pregaming" part of my build, but when I get back to the states the gloves are off.

Got another exhaust. Didn't really like the tone of the super 44 much so I figured I'd try my hand at a 10 duel out.

Also I'm doing the actual Satoshi grille mod but with the superimposed Toyota FJ cruiser emblem. Can't wait to see how it turns out myself!

Last but not least I got some flood lights from Cree, decided that my "little secret" on what I'm going to do with my front bumper will look good with the LEDs and whatnot. Stay tuned and always comments and feedback are welcomed. THE MODDING STARTS SOON!!

Hey just one last update before I go under the radar for a few weeks, my sliders came in and look great, anyone know where in katy Texas has a good place to weld? Got these for 250ish bucks. Not bad for Dom tubing. Really love 4xinnovations. Adam is a great guy to deal with and will answer any questions you've got. Anyways sorry about the pics they could be better but I'm limited to what my mom can take with her phone.

extreme offroad but they might charge on the high end. Maybe some automotive shops but look around and see what type of equipment they will be welding with first.

hey if you could post a video of the flowmaster 10 dual out? when you get it on and all....i have a 40 series for like a year now and its to quiet for me....i was gonna get a 10 series or a glasspack....looks great though!

Okay so I have a problem. I know I know, everyone here that's been bit by the modding bug is having serious cases of wanting to make their trucks look good. But I had a big fat 150lb bug bite me today and need up dropping the hammer on a rear plate bumper from CBI OffRoad Fab. I really think that I might be going off the deep end buuuuuuuut I keep reassuring myself and my wallet that everything is going to be alright that was the last major purchase till the end of deployment. My mom is getting annoyed and threates to open up a parts shop in my room to get all the parts I've ordered out of the house haha. As soon as it comes in, I'll post pictures of the bumper and tire carrier. Anyone have any links for the Jerry cans? I got the double carrier option, also how do I go about securing them? I don't want to simply put a chain and lock on it, but I still want to keep honest people honest. I know how much Jerry cans can be. Thanks!

I know I said I was going under the radar but something happend on the ship that I'm not so sure I should disclose but we can't go underway. As soon as I get back to the states and feeding my addiction to turn wrenches I'll get a sound clip posted up. Trust me I'll keep you guys posted, it pains me enough that I have to pregame haha. Makes it all the better that I'll be able to work on it when I get back. I'm just happy that my fiancé is okay with me being so...addicted. Haha. She's loving how the 4runner looks so far.
