Disable AUTO power windows?

I have a 2000 4Runner both the driver and passenger windows (in the front) have a AUTO switch to control the windows. If you hit it hard once the windows will automatically go down the whole way. And if you lift it hard, it will automatically go up all the way.

This annoys the hell out of me. When I want to stop my window mid way. I always go past the point and end up doing 3 or 4 micro adjustment to get it where I want it to stop. Im I a moron or do I get frustrated to easily?

Is this bothering anyone else?

Is there a way to disable this? Fuse? Relay? Replace the switch?

Ive searched the forum and haven't seen for a thread for this. Maybe I missed it or am searching the wrong "words". Any Ideas? Thanks : )

Um, though they are 'auto up/down' front windows, you can operate them manually.

Auto = a brief pull up/push down on the switch.

Manual = hold switch up/down till it reaches desired location and let go. And yes letting go = window stops where you let it go.

So its designed to be the best of both worlds.

Try that.... :cowboy:

My 97 has only auto DOWN, and only drivers front window.. is there any way to swap in the auto up/down for both? or is it not worth the time?

I looked into it and believe I remember finding out that the harnesses are different on the switch panels with the dual auto down feature.

I'd love to have the feature too, I could roll down all 5 windows at the same time that way. :reddance:
