So in reading all the posts about Carista & techstream there is no way to turn off door chime w//o unplugging it & then loose all front courtesy & map ,overhead lights ? I can hear it in the dash almost right behind speedo , so has anyone who's pulled apart their dash investigated this by chance ? Hoping like the piezo its a plug & play disconnect ?

Door chime function

Ya its bothersome ! I like to listen to my Pandora & jazz while working on 4r so having it in Acc. key or close driver door . Have someone looking into this possible mpx ecu fingers x !:help:

In the door jam there is a little door open/closed switch thingy. When working on the vehicle I like to put a little clamp on it to trick my car to thinking the door is closed. If one wanted to permanently change this just take that part out and hard wire it. Idk if it default open or closed, so the wire connecting to it would need to be left open circuit (not touching anything) or grounded.

Door chime function

So its so fu*n easy I can't believe no one has found it ! On steering wheel 2 screws on bottom cover remove those & pull off (for those that have done 12v or accessorides auto start you've done this) inner right by key there is a white single connector 2 wires brown & white unplug put back together no ding ! Many thanks to Old Red for his outstanding leg work on finding simple turn off !

X2! My '20 is a beeping motherf'er. I hate it.

Certain seat belt extenders can take care of that chime.
But the type where you can plug your factory buckle into the extender buckle aren't that sturdy and may tear if in fact they did try to restrain you.

Plug this in to stop the chime, then your factory buckle can plug into it.

Our dog slunk her way into the passenger seat on one trip into town. She's heavy enough that the seatbelts chime went off. I had to do the reach around, just like back in the day at the drive in, to get the belt and plug it in.

You think Drive-Ins would make a comeback due to the Covid BS.

No more beeps

Will this work on a new one? Got a ‘22 and already did carista app. Need to stop open door beeps and initial seat belt beeping.

Would you mind posting a picture of these 2 screws? I dont see any screws but I am in a 2016.

ohh! I'm definitely going to pop this cover off tonight and unplug that wire! Thanks for bringing up this thread.

Another one I found the other day, How to disable DRL function. Bend a pin on the relay.

This forum is so helpful!

OK. I think I found the two screws. They were hiding behind the steering wheel.

I cannot figure out how to get the cover off though. Any advice?? Do the turn signal and wiper control arms come off with it?

Thanks,
P

there is a horizontal seam intersecting with the wiper and and turn signal controls. The top and bottom plastic covers separate here by clipping together.

On another forum I saw the photo of the plug, but it wasn’t a push button. Same or no?
