disabling the neutral switch

Anybody know how, or if it's even a good idea? I mean, 80% of the time, the truck starts right up. But then, yeah, some days I've got to get the shifter in just exactly the right sweet spot. Which seems to change from day to day. Seems like it wouldn't be all that much a trick just to hotwire it, though, so it always think the truck's in park.

Too, what I'm driving: 86 SR5 Turbo, with the cumbersome, ridiculous automatic.

Also, with that tranny, I've get either the 1 or 2 solenoid sticking, and am debating whether to put (both) new ones in or whether to just gamble on a transmission flush down at the lube shop, to try to unstick the valves some.

And, to just go ahead and make this too many questions for a single post: the cruise control. The way mine seems to work is that I set it, then it only kicks in when/if I got 6 or 8 miles below where it's set. Then it catches back up. Is that the way they all work, or is that cruise control box down under the fuses getting confused?

IIRC there is neutral safety and b/u light switch assy in the shifter assy, and I think it also has an adjustment for alignment.
If it does maybe it just needs re-aligning, or it maybe worn.

Otherwise determine which wire is for Neutral/Park and connect it to ground to bypass.
