I am considering a spacer to even out my lift a little. Either the Toytec 1/4" spacers (2 for $20 a piece) or the 3/8 kit ($60). Question is, do I need to disassemble the struts to install the spacers? Or do I just remove the strut as a unit, place the spacer on top and re-install? This will make a huge difference for me. Don't want to pay for my springs to be disassembled and reassembled right now.

I believe that you will have to disassemble them. If you use a top plate spacer, you'll need to disassemble them to intall the longer studs to accomodate the top plate spacer. If you put them inside the coil pack, same deal.....you'll have to disassemble them too.....I've got the top plate spacer, and utilized the longer studs......some say you can squeeze the top plate spacer without the the longer studs, but I wouldn't recommend it.
damn. I know the 1/4" spacers don't need extended studs, so I was hoping you just threw it on top of the studs then put them through and bolted it down.

This should work with the 1/4" top plate spacer. Lock at your studs and see if there is more than 1/4" of threads sticking out above the nut if so you should be good.
Do you have the cone style bump stops inside your rear coils? If so take them out that will bring the back down a little. Then through the 1/4" spacer in the front.
I like how high the back is, just want the front a little higher. Do those coil bump stops limit off-road travel with the new coils? I just left them in because it said to on the install instructions.
I just don't know if the 1/4" spacers are supposed to go underneath the top plate (then I would have to disassemble), or on top of the top plate (I could just throw it on top)

I have never had problems with my cone bumps while offroad. If they do get in the way cut the bottom ring off and leave them in for the added lift.

the 1/4 inch spacer will just sit on top with no disassembly required. the 3/8 spacer with the extended bolt does require you to disassemble.

hell yes steeze. I was hoping you'd chime in. Maybe you could just throw those stickers in the same box with the spacers I'm gonna order in the next 5 minutes. :thumb3:
edit: and by on top you mean I do have to take the struts out, then put the spacer on top, then fit the 3 nuts through the holes again right?

sure i will make sure some stickers get thrown in.
and yes. you just take the whole strut out and put the 1/4 inch spacer on top on of it and bolt up back up. no spring compressor or anything needed
FYI: it might not get shipped until tuesday since we will have all the orders from thanksgiving and black friday to do.
