Disconnecting (not removing) XREAS

I'm upgrading my struts and don't want my XREAYS. I'm not willing to remove them, however, as I want it easily restorable to factory design.

I've found threads on yanking out the whole system, but what can I do to simply disconnect the system/prevent it from working?

Can I simply disconnect the ends of the lines from the reservoir and otherwise leave everything in place exactly as-is?
