discount tire tire warranty- do you purchase?

I am in the market for some new Nittos 265/75/16's @ close to $200 each. Discount wants about 30-40 per tire for the warranty that is past their normal warranty they already give you. Seems like a lot of extra $. I have only used the warranty on my passenger car i think once in all my years of driving. Since I will be off roading from time to time, would it be worth getting the warranty because of the harsher driving conditions??

What do you all do? Any input is appreciated.

yes i bought it and have done so on every tire i have bought from them, and have used it about 3 of 4 times, most defiantly worth it. i have never had to use it on a tire for a vehicle that never leaves the road though. every time i get a flat is from either offroad or something other than just normal driving. its most defiantly worth the extra $

I buy the road hazard on every tire I get and it pays for itself every time. I agree I have used it less on street cars but it still has happened. Reciently I let a friend borrow my f350 and he was pulling over to the side of the road and ran over something ruining the tire. He went into discount and 45 dollars later a brand new tire was on the truck and good to go. The 45 dollars was for the new road hazard warrenty to protect the 250+ tire. Do it you won't regret it

haggle with them, I got all four tires covered for $45. they will come off the price on the warranty.

This. You can always negotiate. The worst they can say is no deal, but it is worth it in my opinion. I have bought it on every set of tires that I have bought from them, and used it about 3 of 4 times.

I always do because at just tires, they cover the tires all the way to the wear marks. I do think the one caveat is you have to buy another warranty on the new tire if you use the current one to have it replaced.

I bought new tires while working in CO and got the Road Hazzard Warranty. I was working on building a new mall so there was debris all around the site. I was very careful driving around but still got 3 nails and screws in my tires in 1 week and a total of 5 flats while working there. They managed to fix all the tires and I didn't have any problems with them. They were good to me.

I didn't get it and I have had to buy two new ties bc of sidewall damage. $190 each tire.

I have them on mine. Didn't get it at first because I had them on all of my previous sets of BFG's and never needed them, but they screwed up my order. So, they gave me the warranty for free.

I got it on my 35 MTRs for $90 for all 4. It took a little haggling. I got them from discounttiredirect.com (Discount tire still). I was on the phone and they guy i was talking to was giving my the low down on offroad damage. He said "you putting these on a crawler" LOL. He said discount will honor the warranty for offroad damage.

I had purchased some Km2s in the past from the local americas tire and they refused to replace a tire that had threads showing on the sidewall... So I rocked the tire just like that until I sold them, and i said I would never get a warranty again. But The rep specifically said discount's road hazard covers offroad damage... Who knows they are basically the same company. The americas tire up here in the desert is a joke anyways So if I have a problem ill go through discount tire directly.

It made me feel a little better about trashing tires that are about $300 a pop
