I asked them about side turn signals (Asian style) and they got back to me with a $318.75 part. The part number was : 00012-R0447-02. I can't get that to work on Toyota sites. Maybe it is there own number. Still trying to find out about the wire placement and if there are accesable already. Maybe I can TracTone the wires to get them where I want them.

If it's an Asian part, then most U.S. parts places won't carry it, so that's why it's not coming up on their Web sites. That looks like a valid Toyota part number.

The wiring is not readily available on the North American units. I think this came up a while back, and the install would involve running a wire from the mirror through the door frame, following the other door wiring, and then splicing into the front turn signal on that side.

I have not torn things apart yet, but if the side signal is on the side fender, then all my work is under the hood. even my neighbor's VW Passat has working side flashers. nice.

That's true. I assumed you were talking about the turn signals in the side mirrors.

Actually, I want side fender turn signals like our Asian counterparts. I did a search and could not find anyone that has tried this, but I know I read it a while back. Another one of those, 'seems like a good idea, why doesn't the US adopt it?'
