displaying vehicle speed on nav unit?

I'd rather have the speed limit displayed, all the Garmin's have it, probably other brands do as well. My 2011 Toyota nav doesn't.
The giant dial and needle in the center of my dash is big enough for me to know how fast I'm going......

Why would you not want to know the actual vehicle speed vs the speedometer read-out with error? A GPS is always correct even when changing tires.
I am not so easily distracted that knowing my actual speed would be a problem.

Yea, I know on the my 2016 TE it shows speed limits when I'm on highways and major roads.
I think error read-out isn't something you should be too worried about. Unless you job/life counts on it haha...

If you knew that, why did you ask? Putting the speed on the NAV is a problem that does not need to be solved. Speed can be displayed two different ways on the console.
I watched a video yesterday about a factory stock Bugatti that went over 400 mph on the Autoban. The speedometer was off by about 10% but he used GPS in the car to verify speed.
My 4Runner will do over 400 mph off of a tall parking garage. The brakes are instant. 400 to 0 in 0 seconds. :redbrick:

How do we know your truck hasn't been dropped from a plane while in park?
That had to be kph, not mph. Still fast, but no where near 400mph fast.

Wrong on both counts.
It was 400 Kph, or about 250MPh.
And no your 4Runner won't do 400mph if dropped from a plane let alone from a parking garage. Maybe 400kph if dropped from a plane - I'm not really sure.

I was recently looking for the speed on my nav unit as well after changing to 275/70-17's. I finally gave up and used the Waze app on my phone. Turns out to be right on now at 65 mph.
Sometimes being off 3-5 mph from what you think you are driving (when exceeding posted limit) can result in a traffic ticket.
