So I really haven't noticed a lot of awning DIYs besides ANTMANS so i figured I'd post this in case someone else could benefit from it! It's not the easiest to setup/take down, but its multi purpose and i just toss everything in my roof top carrier when im camping. Two people can get it up in about 8 min.
I followed this basic pole guide with a few changes/mods for myself:
Telescoping Pvc Tent or Awning Poles - All
I used my Yukon outfitters hammock tarp, but really any tarp will do.
They'll go up to 6' 6" in case of a depression, and down to 5' 9". They fold down into themselves for storage at 4'. You can put the stake and line inside of it too. Tried it out in a few different ways but these were my two favorites. I fully anticipate having a tent partially under there with two camp chairs and maybe a small table. Access to the doors is not hampered in any way.

I usually have yakima cross bars on so this mounting would be a little modified but this is the gist of it
