DIY MOD: How to make under hood lighting.

If you don't mind just a single bulb, some of the old K5 Blazers and the like had a retractable underhood light like another poster said upthread. I wish I had kept the one from mine for my T4r. I have been thinking of a mod like this for a few months now, just haven't had any spare cash yet.

I just ordered all the parts I need (I think) from eBay, and only spent $25 including shipping! Granted a lot of these are straight from China, but for that price I'm okay with some of it being disposable. I can always upgrade to better parts after I see how this fits. I'll try to remember to post a few pics when I'm finished, but I'll be waiting a few weeks for some of the parts to arrive.

So all my parts finally arrived, and I did the install yesterday. I tweaked it a bit though. I used a hood pin switch, and also added a toggle switch so I can easily turn it off if the hood will be open for a while. Only complaint is the eBay light strips aren't as bright as I'd hoped, but if that annoys me I can always upgrade to something legit. Here's a few pics...
