DIY Rear Bumper Trimming and gap covers/Oversized mud flaps

So I threw on the Daystar 2.5" lift/leveling kit and 285/70R17 Falken Wildpeaks with Icon 17x8.5 +12 offset and was pleased to find no need for BMC, however after flexing a bit on AZ trails I found that there was an excessive amount of rub on the back part of the rear bumper; So, I trimmed and fabed some oversized mudflaps to cover the gap in the bumper and protect my car (from flung rocks) and my tires (from potential rub on sharp cut metal)..

I used

hammer
Vise Grips
drill
drill cutting wheel adapter
4" cutting wheel
8" L brackets
#10-24 1/2" bolts (with washers and nuts)
factory mud flap screws
Commercial Floor mat

In the end it cost me roughly $40

I cut the plastic bumper back about 1.5" keeping the top mud flap screw hole and then I cut and bent the pinch weld to mount the L brackets by drilling new holes in the bent metal.

P.S. I made this thread because of the lack of other posts regarding fitting larger tires without replacing the OEM bumper, I also will probable end up trimming the flaps so the rubber sits on the inside of the bumper. But figured id leave the large flaps for a while... couple more pics...
