do all 3rd gens have rear heater

sorry to bump a super old thread, but this seems like a logical place to ask this seemingly stupid question that's been on my mind for a while:

-what's the purpose of the rear heater?

Is it's literal sole purpose to bring warmth to rear passengers? If that's the case, why no rear AC?

What am I missing

Its rear heat for passengers, they have controls also. I really have no idea why AC is not pumped back there.

I have it, so I'm familiar with the controls. I don't keep passengers often, but not once has anyone ever given two shits about it.

I ask because I vaguely remember reading somewhere on the internets one day that it could be useful when offroading in high temps....blow rear heat to keep coolant temps down, while not burning yourself out of the rig. Admittedly, I have no clue if this makes sense.

My kids use it all winter. I use it to warm the inside up faster. It warms up the car quickly.

When you run a heater blower it cools the coolant just like having a fan on the radiator. I can drastically see temps drop on the data logger when running rear or front heater. If overheating its a good quick trick to get her home.

I ripped mine out when I put in the 5speed. Just something else to fail, besides tropics and heaters are a poor combination
