I am looking to replace the cats on my 2001 SR5. How can I tell what cats the factory installed and do I need CARB Compliant replacements if it had them from factory?
Do I need to replace with CARB Compliant in CO?

In 2001, all 4Runners were the "Cali" two-cat system, as the Feds adopted the Cali standard for '01 and '02. You need to use Cali-compatible parts, or you will probably set a P0420 and get a MIL light. They do NOT have to be CARB compliant if you are registered in CO. There are lots of Cali parts out there that are not CARB compliant.
