Do I sell it?

My buddys girlfriend is offering me 6 grand for my 99 with 201k on it. I literally JUST put $2000 into it, ubj and lbj both sides timing belt etc... I think I just might let it go..

The heck with the money. Why would even consider selling? You will not find a vehicle as reliable that can do what a 4runner can do.

You also know the service record and any issues your 4runner has. If you replaced, you have no idea if it has issues.

I don't know the specs of yours or what you have done to it, but I have been seeing some really nice vehicles for around that price. I'd sell it and get another one.

Selling to make some money may sound good but usually in the long run it'll cost you.

4th gen? really? More electronic BS, less capable off road, lower. Nice power though!

It all depends on what you plan on replacing it with. 6K for a truck with 200K on it, not bad man. Not sure what all you have done to your Runner though. Would you be helping her out by selling it to her? Look at it that way too. If she really needs something and you want something else, sell it and move into another Runner with less miles or move up into a LC, maybe an 80 series or something. Good luck.

I payed less then that for it and could get another for one for that price if not lower.. On the other hand, if you sell the crown vic also what are you going to drive in the mean time?

6k sound pretty good for a runner with 200k + miles. Thats what I paid for mine bone stock with some issues, and 161k miles on it. However, I would counter at $6500. But thats just me :

I moved 2 months ago to Chicago to get my $@"& together too. I sold my 94 Lexus sc300 5speed. I was offered a good price. It made sense for me to let it go I couldn't handle 2 cars in Chicago. It's not easy finding a 5 speed sc300. It's a lot easier finding another t4r. Plus you'll be one step closer to getting rid of one of ur vehicles. 6k is very fair.

Whats a vehicle cost, any vehicle that's clean, decent, and runs well? 5k? If you didn't just do all the major service, then it might be worth thinking about. As of now you probably have a solid vehicle, that you like?, that will run for some time without much more than gas and oil.

If however, you are just tired of it and want something different, then sell it.

You spend a lot of life in a car, drive one you like!

I sold my 99 in June with $193K on it for $7500. $6K for "a vehicle" with 201K on it sounds good but $6K for your 4Runner with all you have done to it isn't a great deal or you IMO. Bring the Crown Vic down to my house, I'll drive it around the hood in Philly for you for a few days. It'll either get stolen and you'll get the insurance money or I'll find a buyer for it.

How much $ do you need to move out west? Depending on where you go out there I think you could really enjoy the 4Runner out there.

I would keep the vehicle with the most versatility and the ability to move your stuff. Especially if you are thinking of making a far move in the near future. Leaving your friends/family behind means you need to make sure you can handle as many things by yourself as possible.

If it is not your DD, I'd say it is 50/50 whether you keep it or not considering you just put that much $$$ into it. But if you don't wrench on it, the upkeep with that many miles can get expensive.

lol that sounds fine to me. i dont know how much i need, i have a year experience with my cdl and i want enough to live for a long time while job hunting... im shooting for 15-20 grand by next summer. i know i would enjoy it out there, i want to go to moab :-\

just tires, shes letting me take my cb/pa setup, kc daylighters and stereo out.
