do most wheeler care about image or not

i wonder if most wheelers here care if their rig got a scratch or fent

I do everything I can to keep my truck as mint as possible but there are some things outta your control like dumbasses that roll into at stop lights for instance. I plan on rebuilding my entire truck, more like restomodding it, after I graduate college.

I try to keep my truck looking good for the street and buff out the more serious scratches but as long as it's not bashed in or tore up the minor scrapes don't really bother me but I do like the truck to look good on a night out on the town.

I bought mine used and it's been repainted by a previous owner. I love to add pinstriping when I take it out on the trails.

Street damage (door dings from a little kid, someone hitting me, etc) I get pissed at. However if something gets damaged offroading or by something I did, I can smile at that.

Mine is full of Dings small dents and all kinds of scratches! But all of that was from the Previous owner. I had to fix one of his mistakes to the rear cargo side glass. Other then that i try to keep them from happening

I don't like scratches of any kind. Appearance is everything; it is my daily driver after all. Obviously because of that it won't be perfect but I try my hardest to make it look it for the most part.

I understand stuff happens, but as a daily driver where I spend most of my time I want it to remain as clean as possible. Plus, the better it looks when it comes time to trade in, the more $ I'll have to upgade to a newer 4Runner. Don't own a house yet so the 4Runner is the most expsensive thing I have, just makes sense to keep it nice.

I don't purposely put scratches on it, but I won't cry if scratches show up. I'll try to clean them up if possible. If not, meh, we'll eventually touch them up.

I am extremely OCD about my Runner, especially since it's so new. But I was also that way with my 2000 that I had for 11 years. Even the little rock chips that happen on the front bumper bug me...:cry2:

4Runner was pretty much exactly as wide as the trails we were going up. Most of them are surface scratches and washed right off, some will take a light buffing, and I think only one or two would require wet sanding and detailing.

My truck sustained pretty much an entire trucks length of deep and superficial scratches alike during my Squamish trail run...it was fun 'til I realize what I made my truck go through...It took me almost a entire day to buff and polish to the point where I think I darn near burn the clearcoat off some spots.

I guess I could post pics of the bottom side of my front bumper as evidence but getting scratches and scrapes is just part of wheeling. Pinstripes are a fact of life and I'd rather spend my time wheeling my Runner than polishing it!

I love the way my truck looks but what good is it if you can't wheel it.....hence the photo of a prestine paint job with a beautiful chingaso on the bumper

I just spent 10 hours detailing my runner and can guaruntee it will be in the desert in a week. I have to have my ride looking good no matter where it is, Wal-Mart parking lot or 50 miles in the middle of nowhere.

Maybe you should stop trying to hit kids with your doors.

I'm alittle OCD when it come to my runner but I can let some small things go especially if they're unnoticable or unpreventable. But things like parking lot dings, dents or big scratches are a no go. As for trail scratches, I could let those go and if they get really bad there's always paint!
