If that grease is from a torn boot, replace, if just from taking apart, it's fine. The outer TRE will last hundreds of thousands of miles unless it is broken/bent or gets contaminated.
There is about 99.999% chance your noise is not from the TRE. If your lift includes upper control arms with poly bushings, that would be the most likely cause.

How would I be able to tell whether it’s from taking out or torn? Got this done by a shop. Also, yes I got control arms. Dobinson to be exact. This was about 1.5 years ago. I feel like it has been progressive like getting more noticeable.

Has the TRE recently been disconnected? If so, that is almost certainly what it is from. Most of the time some grease squeezes out when manipulating it to get it re-connected. To be sure, wipe the grease off and see if it comes back.
Looks like those UCAs have rubber bushings, so probably not your culprit, but I'd give em a quick spray with silicone grease to check. What shocks do you have? If they have a spherical bearing in the end (king, icon, radflo, etc), most likely that has worn out. They usually last me about 8-10k miles in the desert. Good test for this is to spray some lube on the lower shock eye and if the noise goes away for a day and comes back, that's it.

please do, i'm chasing one currently. So far, new UCA poly bushings, new UCA ball joint, new UCA through bolt, checked tie rod end, shock lower rod mount, cv. havent driven it since i swapped the UCA through bolt though. hopefully the other one was bent or something dumb.

Well, I think I found the culprit to my noise. Last night I got on my side steps and started rocking the truck side to side and heard the noise, or at least one of them. Popped the hood , noise is gone. Closed back the hood and noise is back. I think something is up with my hood latch. Now I have to figure out what’s up with it

The infamous latch squeak strikes again. Make sure the rubber bumpers at the corners are holding tension on the hood when closed and clean/lube the latch.

Thanks for the advise. Will check it out ! What an odd thing. I did get an ARB bumper installed recently. Maybe they moved something ?

I replaced the through bolt holding the upper control arm to the frame. fixed it so far. Dirt King told me toyotas tend to bend those bolts when ran hard without a double shear kit installed. We shall see how it goes though.
hood latch clunk is super common and yet sneaky, glad you found it!
