I think it's a bit high too. Clearly you loved and took care of that rig and it shows, however as stated above it's only 2wd. And like you said the market will dictate the value. If that's the going rate for your area then go for it. You aren't desperate so you can be patient. You will know soon by the offers or lack of offers you get.
I agree with you guys. I'm actually one of those guys that buys a lot of cars and gets them for dirt cheap. I priced a lil high so i wouldn't get those idiotic 4k offers or trades for civics. If someone really wants one they will pay higher than average once they see this one. But I figure with nothing on it, i could price at 6500 so someone looking to buy one and modify they aren't going to do much cheaper than what i'm asking. And thats if the timing is done which is a 1k dollar job at the steelership. We'll see what happens.

Its not out of line but if it was 4wd, that would help. My 02 Sport is not for sale but people keep tempting me with over book value offers, one of which was $13k.
Finding somebody who really wants a 2wd 3rd gen is going to be nearly impossible. If you truly buy and sell lots of cars you should realize this thing is worth $6,000 on a good day and even then will be a tough sale.

I bought my 02 Limited with 144K miles, one-owner, near perfect, dealer maintained (every factory recommended service, and oil changes at 3K miles) for $8,000 2 years ago from a dealer. Yes, I think you are about $3,500 high - I'm guessing $5,500 for a 2002 SR5 2WD 4Runner, even in great condition in a private-party sale. And the KBB price is relevant - if a bank won't loan over $6050 for it (KBB retail dealer price), nobody CAN buy it for $9000, unless they come up with $3000 down payment. Good luck, but I'm guessing you won't get many lookers unless you come down to $6000 asking price (and probably take $5500).

I'll start off by saying that is a very nice there.
IMHO 9k is a bit steep but it's really dependent on the market where you are located.
I recently got my 2wd 4runner and I was actually in the market for a 2wd. I also paid a little more than what the average in my area is based on the maintenance records and the mileage.
I would throw it on ebay with a lot of pics and details and you might get what you are asking.

I respect everyones opinion but there isn't a 02 in my area in stock shape as clean as this for 6k. Then you add on the mods. I know and will never doubt its overpriced but 6k is ludicris with these mods and as clean as it is. Don't forget I also priced higher to detour from the low low ballers. I guess we'll wait and see. IF I don't get a decent price i'll just keep and use to my commute to the gym and back. It will last me forever. And also you have to realize i'm asking this hypothetical question on a forum where people are very divers in the subject. Can never under estimate the unknowing. Someone may look at it and just think its really really cool. Get compliments on it all the time.

There in lies the problem...you can't expect to get your money back for 90% of the mods you've done. Especially when done on a 2WD truck.

You make a good point but so dose just about everyone else.
If it were me I would put it back to as close to stock as I can and ask 6k for it. With everything you have in pats buy a clean 4x4 and and put your nice parts on that.

No particular reason. When I was looking for one for my son it was the cleanest one out there. I know I was going to lift and since you can lift 2wd and 4wd the same I didn't care. I build things more for looks than anything. I knew my son wouldn't romp it or ever need 4wd. I originally was going to get a 4wd just for resale purposes but it is very very hard to find 12 year old vehicles in the shape i'm looking for. I don't have a problem keeping. I have a company truck and then the big red beast in the photos and also a 69 k5 blazer. I will probably put 2k miles a year on the 4runner if kept.

as long as people also don't know the value of their truck it is only going to make mine more appealing

So I have to ask why your son doesn't get the 4runner to go to college? Or are autos not allowed for freshmen?
It is very nice and clean, the Tundra rims always make a 3rd gen look great.
You may be able to get that price in CA, OR, or WA, with time, but don't be surprised if they want to beat you down on the price. I'd post a engine pic as well, for the serious buyers.
My buddy's dad still has a 93 Yukon GT that has about 88,000 miles on it and is running well. Good old TBI. MPGs though rival most exotic sports cars.
