Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

I want to go a little higher in my 4runner WITHOUT KDSS. I'm currently on 5100s all around with the fronts set at 1.75 with stock springs. Rear has a 1" spacer. Ultimately, I want to go up to a 3" lift. I don't have any armor at the moment, but I do plan on adding sliders. I have a home made cargo box in the rear that weighs 70-100 pounds. What do I need to achieve this? Thanks!

I'd suggest the C59-448 front coils for 3" of lift, set the 5100's back down to zero. New UCA's should be used for proper alignment.

In the rear, the C59-325, and take out the spacer. You should be riding nice and supporting that bit of extra weight just fine.
Or you can go with the variable progressive rear 3" coils, C59-675V and match up with long travel shocks for maximum flex. Not sure what your full plans are and what sort of driving you do?

Mike. Are your shocks and struts progressive or digressive valving?

The Bilsteins are digressive - Higher dampening ratio at low shaft speeds to control body roll and movements and lower damping ratio at higher damping speeds to allow suspension to soak up bumps.

Dobinsons are progressive, they get firmer with the more pressure put on them

Hey guys, we're back to fully stocked again. Been shipping out a lot of suspension to you all this week, including the new C59-505 rear lower height coils.

And after our weekend at Overland Expo last week, it looks like we will be bringing in and stocking our MRR (Monotube Remote Reservoir) shocks for the 5th Gen's. First in the 700/701 lengths, then hopefully later in the long travel 574/575 lengths. We had tons of great feedback, and even picked up a few dealers who are excited to offer them.

Don't forget to PM me or direct email me with any questions you have.

Oh, and front UCA update: Hopefully in August we will be receiving our first stock of them for the states. They will be a ball joint style. Here soon we should have our pricing nailed down for those, so then we can offer the full suspension kit for more complete package.

Looks great! did you keep the stock UCAs or go aftermarket? if stock, were you able to get in-spec alignment?

Thank you!

Stock UCA for now. They got it within spec and it honestly drives great, but waiting on Dobinson to release their UCA's to go with them. More for the added adjustability and travel. I'm very happy with my purchase!

No, those I just listed are not offset, so not ideal for KDSS unless you are using a spacer on the front. If you use a 5mm spacer on the front right side, you don't need offset rear coils, you can use even coils. Also vice versa, if you use offset rear coils, you can use even front coils.

Rear Coil Options, with KDSS.
Our KDSS coils are 15mm taller on one side to go onto the US passenger side (right side) to compensate for vehicle lean
C59-723 - Stock rear end, 1.25" lift, offset height coils for KDSS leveling. 420/405mm, 17mm wire, 228LB
C59-725 - Stock rear end, 1.75" lift with 3rd row, 2" without, offset height coils for KDSS leveling (similar to C59-325). 430/415mm, 17mm wire, 228LB
C59-727 - 200-400LB heavy rear load weight, 2" lift, offset height coils (similar to C59-327). 430/415mm, 18mm wire, 271LB
C59-729 - 600-800LB super ridiculous heavy rear load weight, 2" lift, offset height coils (similar to C59-329). 430/415mm, 19mm wire, 333LB

The lowest height KDSS coils is the C59-723.

Does the C59-723 come in red? Or is your only red rear coil the C59-505?

No, they're in teal/green.

And honestly, try taking a look at your rear coils. I didn't think even making the C59-505's in red was worthwhile for the TRD Pro guys, since you can't even see them under there, but we figured we would give it a shot. Especially since we are making the TRD Pro replacement front coils in red.

Right I saw that thread and I'm super excited about those coils. Take my money already! haha. And good point, I will take a look at my rear coils when I get home today. Thanks!

Would 265s look alright with this setup too?

Personal I'd say no but looks are subjective to each person. My neighbor has 265's and his look significantly smaller. I'll see if I can line them up for a side by side. My wife actually said the 275's look a little small....and it will get 285's when these tires are done.

Thanks for the feedback!
