Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

From reading all the posts on the Eibach lift thread you dont need it as its supposed to work with the stock UCAs and still be able to get the alignment in spec. Thats for their 2.75/1 stage 1 lift.

Sure, it will drive, but it won't drive as well as it could with proper caster set with new UCA'S. 3 to 4 degrees of caster is the target on a lifted Toyota. But you'll probably get 2 or less with almost 3" of lift and stock UCA's.

Crikeymike I keep hearing that there is a heavier duty rear spring that is about to be released that is heavier than the 749V. Any truth to that?

Nope, that's not true. What maniac would be carrying that much weight anyway? These coils already support more weight at a lifted height than GVW is set too, so axles will start cracking and breaking if people don't limit their weight.

Now a vehicle with KDSS really doesn't have body roll hardly at all, so that's something else to consider.

So, Mike. Would my KDSS with 705s be the best of both worlds? As far as comfort and minimal body roll. I drive an empty runner every day but will eventually be doing more highway time, and a once-a-year 20 hr road trip. I'll occasionally tow a small boat but I imagine I'll be getting AirLift for that.

Yes.

The 705's are sold out tho til the end of the month.

Got my Dobinsons coils and Eibach Pro Truck Sport Shocks installed and it appears I am the only one so here is my review, feel free to ask questions!

Shocks: 4 Eibach Pro Truck, fronts are installed on the bottom ring.
Front Coils: Dobinsons C59-302 (advertised at 2.5" lift)
Rear Coils: Dobnsons C59-325 (advertised at ~2.0" lift)

Stock Hub measurements (I have 3rd row seats):
PF & DF: 19.5
PR & DR: 21.5

New Hub measurements after 50 miles, rears should settle with some time:

DF: 22.0
PF: 22.5
DR: 24.0
PR: 24.0

Compared to my OEM XREAS suspension with Toytec 2.5/1.5 spacer lift, this lift feels so much better on road, it takes potholes and road imperfections much better (XREAS may have been compromised at 70K). Pot holes and speed bumps no longer feel like i totaled my car every-time i drive over them. I have yet to test it out off-road.

I went with this lift set up because I wanted the lower spring rates that Dobinsons offers as well as being able to dial in the perfect lift numbers for my needs and the Eibach shocks have great reviews and the mono tube design is what I was after. My end goal was really to get the smoothest on road ride I could get without dishing out for Kings and I think i accomplished just that. I do have a slight driver side lean that I will address with a top plate spacer after a couple of months if it remains. Also my XREAS lines are zip tied currently and I plan on removing the system soon.

Let me know if any of you have any questions!

did you get an alignment yet? did they get the castor in spec? If so I am thinking I can skip the aftermarket UCAs for now. I want the same set-up but was thinking 1.5 for the rear coils since I do want some rake. Also are the front and rear coils same length or you got the ones that are different driver side to passenger side to avoid the lean? I have KDSS and want to avoid the lean and not use spacers if not needed to get rid of it

Caster is in spec, pretty sure thats only a problem after 3" in the front. My coils were the same length as I do not have KDSS!

I've got this similar setup coil wise but with KDSS. When I ordered Dobinsons had the 725's (325 rear coils with an extra 15mm built into the passenger side coil).

I don't see these listed anymore, would be worth asking Crikeymike if they stopped production on these? They perfectly leveled my truck out on the front and rear, no spacer up front.

Dobinsons site showed the front and rear springs with the KDSS option, 15mm extra for passenger side, I just need pick what height I want for the rear. Ill get the 2.5 springs for the front, but not sure if I want to do 2 in the rear or 1.5.

The KDSS coils are still made, but almost never in stock, so I've redirected everything on my site and on here to sell the even height coils and add a spacer to anyone that has KDSS.

The KDSS coils are also only made in teal, and everyone wants the variety to choose a color, which is only available in the even height coils.

I believe he removed them as they are out of stock

lift/suspension for 2020

I currently have a 2020 ORP. No KDSS. I still have stock tires and wheels on the vehicle but looking to upgrade the wheels soon. I’m also interested in a 2-3 inch lift with shocks and coils to be able to go off roading a bit more comfortable. the stock vehicle sits a bit too low for my liking. any suggestions? trying to keep it in the 500-800$ range. thanks!!!

There are options for sure.

2" front, 1" rear is pretty common, especially with stock tires.

C59-300
GS59-700
C59-599
GS59-705

All base kits start at $880 though. Here's the page where you can build a kit how you want it with all possible options.

But for a simple lift, all you'd need is the coils, struts and shocks to get the ball rolling.

Damn, right when I was about to pull the trigger on my lift. Mike, what kind of wait is there for those KDSS coils? I want the teal anyway. My shop says they usually get parts from you within a week. I would be willing to wait it out to do it right. Unsure if the spacer is really a big deal though.

It isn't a big deal at all.
