Does 99-02 valence fit 96-98?

I notice the 99-02 bumper stick out a little further but I want to install that year front valence on my 97. Is it a direct fit.
Didn't want pick or buy one if it doesn't fit!

No its not a direct fit, you would have to swap out the whole front bumper. I am sure you can make it fit if you wanted.

Really. What's the prevention? I imagine maybe some trimming cause the 99-02 front valence will pass the 96-98 bumper to rubb the tires?
