Does anyone have any tips, etc., for removing coolant system components?

I had a mouse chew through some wires down in the deepest depths of the V. I currently have the lower intake manifold off and need to remove the coolant lines that run through the V to gain access. Any advice, links, etc., on removing the cooling system components would be greatly appreciated.

At first glance it seems I have to remove a bunch of shit. Coolant has been drained and I'm about to start pulling hoses.

I still need to remove the tubes that run through the valley. If possible I'd like to not have to remove components at the rear of the engine. The front housing is off but not completely removed. So many frickin hoses.

Been busting my knuckles to get to this point. The tubing is a PITA to remove, so I just moved it out of the way to provide just enough clearance:

That sucks! Were you able to find the correct plug or were you able to fix that one? It seems mice love the wiring on these 5th gens.

I agree. Is it really necessary to have that knock sensor hidden down there? Also, who's decision was it to make the wiring peanut butter flavored?

A local parts house has access to it and it should be coming in today. It's the same connector used for the injectors, only a different color. I thought about fixing it but I didn't feel like futzing around with the old connector since I don't trust my ability to make the old one work.

I would have some choice words for the engineer. I do not understand how the tube and the piece at the rear of the engine can be removed with the engine in the car. Access is extremely limited and any work has to be done by feel. It seems like I'm missing something but who knows.
