coolant pipe under manifolds removal tips

Doing a knock sensor fix on a v6. I've got the upper and lower out and now I'm dealing with the stupid coolant pipe that blocks access to the sensors. I've cut the brackets now I'm just trying to figure out any tips or tricks to get that pipe out cuz I'm having a heck of time.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you have cut the brackets, then there is nothing else holding it in. This assumes of course you have disconnected the front and rear housings plus the wiring harness itself. There is a harness in the back by the firewall which connects to the short harness running under the coolant pipe which connects to each knock sensor.

I've cut the brackets and removed the 10mm bolt that holds in the bracket attached to the big pipe.

So there is no real way to get it out of that rear housing? That's my problem. The rear housing is held on by 4 nuts on studs which I have removed but the housing is on there good still. Should I concentrate on removing that rear housing instead of getting the pipe out?

There are two bolts that hold the coolant pipe to the engine block. The wiring harness that connects to the knock sensors is very short. Meaning, you would have to disconnect the harness from each of the knock sensors in order for the coolant pipe to move around loosely. Assuming you have the clearance in the front and the harness disconnected, then the coolant pipe should come forward. Keep in mind the o-ring that holds the rear housing to the coolant pipe was tough to remove. Spray some PB Blaster or lubricant where housing meets the coolant pipe.
