Does KYB sell longer 4runner shocks?

I asked them and they do not make a "4 Runner" shock for any lifts. They could not provide me any info on what I needed for 1-2" lift. I already had my 5100's and was just researching. I'm not a Bilstein fan because of their crappy warranty and service.
 
Not that I know of. I wasn't looking for lift when I installed mine but I was not aware of any other sizes for 4Runners.
 
You could go with landcruiser shocks for the rear. Same specs as an oem that everyone buys. I have some rancho rs5000 landcruiser shocks in the rear of my 99. Works great for me.
 
People tend to mention Landcruiser shocks a lot for the rear, but I'm always unclear on which model/year of Landcruiser.

Is there only 1 option for LC rear shocks?

I believe 94-97 LC80. I have a 97 4runner and got the 97 rear LC shocks from cruiserparts.com. paired shocks with ome 861 (LC front springs)

The rancho shocks are stock replacement shocks for a landcruiser. So they have the same specs, something like 23" extended and 14" compressed. They are longer than stock 4Runner ones. I just got the ranchos because I got a great deal through work. [MENTION=118836]SpidermanGeek[/MENTION] the shocks are for an FJZ80 landcruiser so the years are 95-97

Anybody know how much longer the LC shocks are compared to 4runner

Is there a KYb shock that can be used on the front end of the runner to have about a 2-3" lift? The reason I'm asking is kyb stock 4Runner shocks are like 30$ and if I could just get a longer "stock" shock then it would be really cheap

You could probably use a Tundra Kyb front shock. It might give you an 1" of lift. Don't quote me on it though because I have no clue just guessingy

Not even close to being something that could work.
The rear Tundra application shocks have a potential to work, but only after modification to the lower eye bushing.

Hey I said don't quote me on it. I have no clue just tossed out an idea. Someone should do the research especially since everyone slaps tundra Bilsteins on like candy why couldn't the stock stuff work. Would I do it? No. OP just seems like he wants to go the cheap route which is totally ok. Just do some research beforehand.

Thank you all and especially MN4runnerman for all the help, I think at some point I'll be investing in LC shocks, I already have Ome 890's on the stock shocks but I know it's not going to last forever with the lift on the shocks, I'm 15 so I mainly get money in the summer mowing so thats why I'm trying to get the best quality for the money. So there ya go, my life story. Lol :rofl:

Buddy of mine mowed lawns and expanded into a small yard maintenance business all through HS and college. Left school with not one f'n bill, newer car, PU, and money in the bank....didn't advertise one time. All word of mouth....expand it GrassHopper and go forth....so you can get some old man tail lights...LOL
 
I mow 40 lawns in the summer. I'm 22 and have 5 vehicles(4 that run), not much debt left on my student loans. I've been doing it since I was 14 with my dad. Hard work pays off. I got my degree but the way I'm setup now pays more than if I found a starter job in my field of interest.

What stock stuff? I have stock Tundra shocks on mine- is that what you're saying someone should try?
I'll be swapping in stock 5th gen Tokicos here in a few weeks. Just trying to dial in my suspension travel, while keeping the ride comfort and handling I like.
Hey Christian, I think the LC shocks would be longer than you would want on your rig with the 890's. They're even too long for my 3.5" rear lift.

I must've been confused because you made it seem that stock tundra shocks wouldn't work in your last post. No harm no foul. I usually don't pay that close of attention anyways.
