Does they ride soft and move a lot on the road?

Just got a 2007 that had new suspension components installed not long ago. 128k miles.

I notice on the road it is soft riding (much softer than old 99) and it tends to not hold a line, like it enjoys being blown around on the road.

I know some tires are cupped on back, which is why suspension was updated. Tires were fairly new Michelin's.

Do these things ride soft like that or did they possibly install wrong suspension components?

I'll get it checked out at shop just in case...I did not have it inspected, I did check myself and didn't notice at the time driving.

It's not XREAS, it's the standard suspension option, I see nothing broken underneath.

Check the alignment, specifically the caster. Does it have a lift? Even with small lifts, these things like to max out at about 1.5-2 degrees of caster, which is not enough for it to track nice and straight. You want 2.5-3.5 degrees for good tracking, and that's hard to get without aftermarket upper control arms if its been lifted at all.

Even with my daystar 2.5 level kit and no caster correction (stock uppers) it is not tight on the highway.

I'm going to lower it back to stock instead of getting uppers, mainly as I don't need the lift, and would like less wear and tear on other items, and I drive mostly highway.

update

Toyota checked out. The aftermarket suspension is "quickstrut" not the orignal with fluid loop between shocks. I didn't know that was case on Limiteds. Also noted front and rear sway bars were a bit worn and may be contributing, does make a "knock" which means there is play.

Said it drives ok for age. one Toyota rep suggsted KYB might help.

Don't replace the sway bars. They don't wear out but the bushings and links can.

Went to rockauto and bought some new sway bar links and bushings and KTB shocks to replace monroe quickstruts. never liked monroe ride on other cars. old stuff isn't broken but was reported as worn. hopefully helps.

Could be as simple as needing new tires. I've had tires that looked okay from the outside but were around 8-10 years old and drove terribly. Once I put a new set on it drove like a new vehicle.

I can vouch this. I had KO1 put on as soon as I bought the 4Runner. Drifted and pulled everywhere. Then one tire hit a metal object on the corner forcing me to buy KO2 because the original was long gone. Then got into an accident and insurance wanted to replace one of the old with new KO2 so I paid for the other so all 4 tires are new KO2. Still rode like crap. Stiff sidewall means stiff ride with the bilstein 5100. Drift and pull on the freeway. 4 months ago I replaced them with general grabber atx standard load. Ride like a stock truck immediately. A bit softer and not like a slam Honda Civic. 99% of the crab walk or pull is almost gone. The 1% that is left is wind. It would still push the truck around on the freeway. I miss the look of the KO2s tho.
