Dog Proofing my new 4Runner?

I can tell my used 99 came from a good home, pet hair everywhere!!.
I still find globs of it when I take off a new panel for whatever reason. I have a westy, so unless he doesn't get groomed then I usually don't have much to deal with. But that canvas back looks like a great idea!!

HA HA I love this...Obviously none of you have a little diva for a pup. This was her in the back waiting for the "Help" to put on her seat belt. She does not sit in the cargo area...that is for the dogs.

I have often thought about getting the Canvasback for the cargo area but never could pull the trigger. I know lots of people rave about them, but when your lab only climbs into the back seat and not the cargo area....what is the point.

Hahahaha dude I have the same struggle. Only mine is a 14lb Italian Greyhound who has the hops of Michael Jordan and refuses to be bothered by the dog/cargo area and just jumps over the back of the seat! Then starts working his way up to the front seat. This little dude is a trip. Still working on a harness option for the back seat that will keep him from jumping into the front seat. My 50lb Pit hangs out in the back and just stares out the window with her gigantic tongue hanging out slobbering on EVERYTHING ha.

Currently only have a Weathertech cargo matt.

i also use the canvasback liner, as well as these canine door protectors when the 2 GSDs are along for the ride. fit is good for the size of the rear door, had to trim the plastic tap down that fits into the small triangular window.
in the second pic you can see how the tabs fit in the window jam

And I dig these door covers! I really think I need those.

Ultimate pet liner...

If all goes according to plan I should be getting a new 2016 SR5 premium this weekend/early next week. It's got leather seats but as you all know the cargo area and 2nd row seat backs aren't leather. I've got 3 50+lb dogs and want to control dog hair in the cargo area(where they'll ride) as much as possible. I can't decide if I should go cargo liner or try and fit 2 large crates or possible cargo liner and crates. Any tips/suggestions?

If you go cargo liner, you may want to check this one out. I looked at the CanvasBack, but didn't like that the wheel wells and sides were unprotected from claws. This is good for protecting the sides when hauling gear in addition to the dog.

I have an American Bulldog and she sheds a lot. I'm looking into getting the Ultimate Pet Liner from cargoliner.com due to the side covers. Unfortunately, I have the pull out tray which they don't have listed. I just emailed them about it and will report back when they reply for those that also have a pull out tray.

Get a dog that matches the colour of the seats, you'll never notice the hair.
Our chocolate lab blends in so well I only see her eyes.

My black CanvasBack arrives today. I've got an English Setter and his hair goes everywhere. I think the combination of the CanvasBack and Husky Weatherbeaters (arriving tomorrow) should make it easier to keep it clean.

My ex had a dog jump out of a window at 25MPH after a squirrel... This was a side window. Road rash on her elbows, hocks, foot pads and a nice abrasion under her arm pits and torso where she teetered over the side of the door for a split second. Needless to say, I was not pleased upon their return. I'm glad the dog was okay and that they weren't going any faster. She wore a harness from that point forward.

I'd leash them up IMO.

The canvasbacks are great. I typically keep one of those handheld shark vacuums in my garage. As soon as I let the dogs back in the house I take 3min to run that thing over the car. Vacuuming the hair each time really goes a long way to keeping the cracks and floors of your car from becoming hair mats.
