Dome light switch assembly... after market switch?

Hey all,
Last night My Dome light assembly stopped working.. I checked it out and i see it's sort of a mechanically driven system with very small parts.

I would like to replace this assembly with just a simple 3 Position switch to mirror the current system- off,door, on.

Has anyone attempted this? if so what switches did you use? I should be able to figure out the wiring portion of this.. I was just wondering if someone did it already.

wouldnt you just get the oem part via the junkyard..just sayin....

I was thinking of that... I will look tomorrow.. We dont have many Junkies around here.. The ONE time i used one I had decent luck.So perhaps i'll go 2 for 2.
