Don't bring a gun to a snowball fight.

Not sure how much press this got but it made our news.

Video about an off duty cop (Hummer driver) who pulls his gun as he approached the crowd at a (up until then) friendly street snowball fight because his truck got hit.

My only comment is: Over reaction or what? He's whacked! It's a snowball fight, for Pete's sake. Did he think his life was in danger, in his truck of all places? Can he draw a weapon for any reason? He should have just kept driving and laughed it off.

hate to be a monday night qtrback but can't help to say that the detective overreacted a little bit. yes i would be pissed if my T4R got hit, even with the snowball. He is lucky that the crowd did not turn on him, otherwise he would be in trouble. Situations like that can turn reallu ugly, really fast

oh hell yes i would have pulled my gun if i were a cop in that situation. A snowball fight is cool in a neighborhood of kids or whoever but in city streets its a horrible idea. There is obviously traffic still driving. Just because it's snow doesn't make it ok. If the streets were closed that'd be a different story. I am not normally a fun sucker but i am 110% on the cops side on this one.

Not only will snowballs easily damage your car(acorns dent our cars here in NC) but after he pulls his gun and radio out the black guy clearly throws another snowball, while laughing, directly at the cops face and hits him?!?!? are you serious!?? what a complete freaking idiot?

while I tend to agree with this statement, it is easier said than done in certain situations

He overeacted but the people in the crowd sure weren't helping and egging him on.
It's funny how people won't report some crimes happening right in front of them and don't want to be involved but so ready to turn the cop in over something that really didn't affect them like they are being righteous and such. Just a dumb cop and a few idiots in the crowd made this situation bigger than it needed to be.
