Door Actuator or Fob Issue? (One Actuator Already Replaced)

So I've read through about 20 threads on this issue and can't seem to find one that fit's my exact circumstance. Hopefully you guys can assist.

6 months ago, I noticed my rear drivers side door would not unlock. At the time I noticed it, the only way it would unlock is manually. I waited as long as I could take it and eventually had it replaced last friday. I bought the part refurbished on eBay from a reputable seller, took it to a local mechanic who charged me $60 to install and it worked flawlessly. Well yesterday, less than a week since replacement, I noticed the drivers side door was acting up with the key fob.

It will AT TIMES unlock and lock with the key fob and will ALWAYS lock / unlock while shifting from park to drive, manually using the door and even with the rocker switch inside.

Question:

1) If any door actuator is replaced, should the key fob be reprogrammed or does that only pertain when changing the driver door actuator?

2) Is this just an early sign that the actuator is going bad? (as noted, it will unlock and lock at times with the key fob but always locks/unlocks using any other method)

3) Would the key fob battery be nearly out of juice? (this is highly unlikely situation as i would ASSUME all the door would experience the same issue)

4) When the mechanic replaced the back door actuator, could that have impacted the front door mechanism?

Anyway, thank you for reading this. If you have any other suggestions let me know. All and all it cost about $150 to buy and install the part with a mechanic so it's not terrible but I don't want to have to do this for every door within a 6 months

#3 - Your assumption correct. The Fob sends a signal to the remote unit which unlocks all the doors.

If I had to guess, I would say your actuator is failing or the connection has become a bit corroded. With the car running, does the fob lock and unlock the door every time? If so, it is probably the extra couple of volts you get when the engine is running that is allowing the actuator to work every time you put the car in gear.

You could try pulling the door panel and just unplugging and re-pluging the wiring harness for the actuator and see if that fixes it. If not, I'd get a new actuator pronto. You can search my threads to find the one where my actuator failed in the locked position. It was a complete nightmare to fix.

Yep. Probably another bad actuator.

All 4 of mine have died. I replaced the front two, still havent gotten around to the rears.

Its just a problem with our trucks. You arent the only one that has had this issue.

I am going to attempt to take off the door this weekend and disconnect/reconnect any applicable wires / harnesses. If it happens again, I'll go ahead and order the part.

Disconnecting and reconnecting the wires is not going to fix anything.

Check the battery in your remote, or replace the actuators.

door actuator? blues...

Hi, I also am having problems with my driver side door lock after replacing the door speakers. I have read posts where people cant hear the actuator working. Mine on the other hand, makes a loud clickclickclickclick sound, then paused, then makes the same sound again. Sound like a machine gun. It does this shifting from park to drive. When using the fob, everything locks besides the driver door. Anybody experience this?
