i have gotten many door dings...maybe 4 in the last year. the metal on the 4runner seems to be ultra thin. i actually can't prove door dings, could have been the kids for some of them. sometimes it seems if you look at the car wrong the steel bends.

but just wanted to get everyone's pulse on if they are getting dings on their 4runners...

Look for a paintless dent repair guy in your area. He should be able to fix you up. That’s what I do for work. If you were close to me I could hook you up.

I used to get door dings, and then I got Linex. Drastic? Yes. Any more door dings? No. It’s all about results!

Same problem here. I know mine are door dings cause they are like a crease from the other car's door edge. I know PDR is great for round dings but has anyone had luck with a small crease?
 
I haven't gotten any yet. We do park in the backs of lots next to curbs.

I did see a guy park next to us in a newer mustang and his wife opened the door pretty fast then the door edge hit our sliders. To say the least I ran to check the 4Runner and laughed then said you have to be more careful with your car. They were pissed.
 
The doors are really thin IMO, I have a few and we are pretty aware of where we park

Google paintless dent repair, or call your favorite body shop and ask... its an easy process

I got a pretty good one a few weeks after getting it. Careless lady just absolutely had to park next to me in an empty lot. I was lucky enough to confront her and get her insurance info. The shop wanted to repaint the two doors which I didn’t like so I just took the check. I’ll get the dent pushed out eventually lol
 
I have C4 sliders, but got 2 dents in the passenger rear door. They appear to be from the rear passenger doors of other cars that have the cut out over the rear wheel so the door edge will clear the slider.
 
Sliders help, esp ones that stick out far but only thing I do is HUNT for good parking spaces and tire to find the ones that only one vehicle could be on either side of me and then hug the curb so I give tons of space on the other side. So far, I only have 1 ding on my 4Runner since owning it from 2016. I have noticed that parking spaces here in Phoenix are also generous,... but in Commifornia they parking spacer are super tight.
 
Call me crazy....but the Linex insulates really well. It feels cooler than it did with factory black paint, don’t ask me to explain why!

I love it! I’m looking to get some sliders. There are so many. What kind did you have?

With all the pinstriping ... door dings are the least of my worries.

And yes, the sliders that run parallel with the ground (C4 and Shrockworks have great ones) that have no up angle mounting work great as steps and will protect your door from dings.

Yes. Creases can be fixed with PDR. I do them all the time. Obviously, if it’s something significant it can be a challenge. But the small creases created by door edges are relatively easy to fix.
 
So just before I pull in, this woman comes from the other direction, parks over the line, and then walks away. So I parked anyway. Welcome to D.C.:censored:
