Door lock problem

Hello, yesterday I locked my keys in my four runner was using a coat hanger to unlock it and seemed to have messed up the door handle. I took the door panel off and sure enough the little white clip from the rod of the handle to the lock broke off. I've since ordered another one in. However, after I put the panel back on the interior door handle was working for the day, then the next day I went to open it from the inside and now that one isn't working because the lock will not go up on the driver side door. Is there some way I can get the lock to go up because it looks like it will be very difficult to get the door panel off when the door is shut. Thanks
