door lock re wiring

anyone ever tackle this.. i got the haunted door lock symptom and i dont want to go through the hassle of replacing the module and having it not work so im wondering what if i just re wire the door locks!! i dont care about the locking up after the key is turned and what not im still a paranoid **** who locks them even when they are locked.

any helps, info appreciated.

Rewiring to have them work directly off a switch would be MUCH more involved than changing the module. The 3rd gen switch isn't designed to handle the amperage involved in directly activating the actuators. Even if they could handle the amperage, they don't have the architecture needed to invert power and ground. They are simply a switch that grounds one circuit for lock, and another circuit for unlock.

So at least 2 new switches, a power supply in to the doors, two 12-14 g wires from said switches to the actuators, and possibly a slightly heavier ground supply to the switches. Oh, and you need 14g pair running in between the two switches as well. Piece of cake, if you really want to do that. Let's start with the switches, or check this video so you get an idea what is involved.

Or you could just change the module, if you have properly diagnosed it to be the problem. Or the actuator(s) in question if you diagnosed those!
