Door locker

The door lock on my passenger door is giving me issues. Here's what I've troubleshooted so far:

-Does not react to me pressing the unlock button on driver door or passenger door
-Does not react when the unlock button on the passenger door is pressed
-The only way the door can be (un)locked is by using the brown tab next to the window.
-For a few days, pressing the driver/passenger buttons would allow it to lock from the unlock position, but not visa versa.

My thoughts are that the motor for the door lock is dead on that side. Has anyone had any experience with replacing or fixing this issue? It wouldn't be too impossible to take off the handles/console and remove the inside of the door and replace it. I assume it would be a small part. Any other ideas before I start to take apart my door?

one thing could be is if you pry off the panel where the door lock is for that door and make sure its a sure connection, because if that lock isnt plugged in you cant operate it from anywhere but manually.

I cant imagine it coming out on its own(the plug) but only thing i could think of thatd be an easy fix before you take apart your door.

So if the passenger door lock/unlock tab button is not working, nothing else will work? Is that what you are saying? I'll check that out. I got a Haynes from my dealership a month or so ago and it doesn't look like too difficult of an operation. The only reason I brought it up here is becuase I would be winging it becuase the most work I've ever done on my own car is changing the air filter. :o

well kind of, if that switch is bad or has a faulty connection or is not connected at all then that window can not be opperated from the master contols on the drivers side nor from the keychain unlock button. make any more sense?

yes, thank you.

I think it just might be some linkage that is broken. it is now regularly unlocking but not locking from any control point (keys or either switch).

I'm running into that same problem on my passengers side rear door. It doesn't matter if I am using the remote or the switch, the lock/unlock of that door is intermittent.

I tried breaking the door down today to see what was there but could not get the trim pieces off without using what seemed to be excessive force. I've got the PDF on tearing the door down and was following the instructions but it would not cooperate.

I guess for now I'll live with just manually checking that lock.
