I believe (not looking at manual) there are 4 options for the auto door lock. The manual should explain how to change them. I googled quickly to see and that appears to be the case. Have not grabbed my manual from my truck, so not 100% sure, but grab your manual and take a look.
I do know that timing must be perfect. While I have not messed with the so called "body settings" (door, lights, etc), I have added key fobs and chipped keys. If you can do those from the car (no dealer needed) you have to be able to tinker with the auto lock option.
Timing is key. I will try to remember to look in my manual when I wander out to my truck later.
I like the auto lock. I always forget myself and a locked door is the #1 life saver in a flip over. Keeps you in the vehicle. Not to mention, my boss's daughter was carjacked and they were simply able to open the passenger door while one of them distracted her with a question. A locked door solves that, and making sure the door auto locks is a good safety feature.
