door panel damage!! how to fix/stop from getting worse??

i noticed this when i was reaching for my seatbelt this morning. has anyone had this happen to them? what can be done??? maybe some kind of glue or caulk? I like to keep my interior nice and neat.. this is NOT nice OR neat. I almost want to run out and buy a new door panel, if it weren't for the fact that, um, it's expensive!!

The discoloration suggests that it keeps getting banged with something (rubber seal?) every time you close it. While you may be able to glue/paint/caulk this thing but looks like it will happen again.

you know what's funny? i didn't even notice that discoloration until i looked at the pictures on my computer. which makes it even WORSE!

While it may not be easy to fix the original problem. You can buy a matching material (if you can find and patch it). If you cant find matching (which you probably wont) I would say brush paint the original, so that discoloration is gone along with the white patch, and then glue on a clear vinyl strip. Wont look too obvious, but will guard your door panel from daily beating.

Mine already made a small tear. I believe it's from that part of the door rubbing on the weather strip. The weatherstrip is actually cheaply done so somehow they're always coming off the trim around the door even just slightly. Mine got caught in the door once because the heat around here really bake those weatherstrips off :flamethrwoer2:
