Door Panel

Ok so I got my 98 4runner in the summer of 2003 when my dad bought a grand cherokee. We love the 4runner and he looked at the new ones but went with the jeep because frankly we thought the new 4runners were more like the "4x4 minivan" that a lot of suvs seem to be these days.

anyway, when he had it, he got into an accident where some car ended up under the running board on the right side. After repairs, the front passenger's door panel wasnt aligned correctly, i could actually fit my hand between the door and the glass, not fun. When I had my first accident, tiny fender bender when i fishtailed into a parked car, and when i had my second accident, again fishtailed on ice but this time on the highway doing 35 due to weather hit the guardrail and spun across the highway stopping in the middle lane perpendicular to oncoming traffic, i asked the repair shop to fix their mistake they made the first time. However, all they did was physically hit it and knock it down a bit. I can't fit my hand in there anymore but it is definately not on correctly and it rattles when i shut doors or when my sub is bumping.

my question: how exactly do i fix this? basically, how do i remove the door pannel and put it back on correctly, without breaking anything in the process?

i dont have an answer for you, but one tip might be to be more careful out there on the roads!

If the shop did not repair it right the first time time why did you have them repair it the second time?

My mom is a stickler for going to the same place all the time and felt that the door panel alignment wasn't a good enough reason not to go back. I don't like the place at all, they never seem to do it "just right" ive had headlights not put in properly...currently one screws into the plastic NEXT to the hole its supposed to screw into, i tried putting it in the right hole and it makes it out of place. After the last accident, we asked them to look at just the front since the damage to the bumper corner in the rear was only aesthetic and we didnt want to file insurance, but since the damage to the front was higher than our deductable we chose to file and they didnt do anything about the damage to the rear. Im just annoyed beause we would have paid the same price and my back bumper wouldnt be all banged up.

Regardless, I was just wondering if anyone knows how to remove the door panel and put it back on properly. I'm sure someone here does, if you've ever installed speakers yourself or anything you must have taken off the panel. oh, and does anyone know of a good place to get rear bumper ends for a 98 sr5?
