Hi guys. I have a 91 4runner with power door locks. The rear passenger side lock isn't locking anymore but the lock still moves up and down with the switch. I did search on here but couldn't find anything. Is this a commen problem? I plan on opening he door panel this weekend but figure you guys probably already know what's broken and how to fix it.

Not really familiar with your truck but most common cause is the lock rod has came off at the door latch often times the plastic clip holding it in place either came loose or broke. you will have to remove door panel to see what exactly happened check door latch locking function by hand to be sure its not seized or broke. At times you can shake door back and forth and hear lock rod dangling around.

I agree with dadigab. It's most likely a plastic clip. Most well stocked auto parts stores sell kit with various clips. The dealer will have them as well.
Don't try to use the widow, because a bar may get bent, like what happen to me. My drivers door lock clip broke and let the bar be where it should not be, when I tried to lower the window, and got bent. I have trouble opening the door sometimes. Sometimes I have pull the lock up while pulling the door latch. I'm too lazy to open up the panel to straighten the bar.
