Doors Auto-lock setting

Trying to set the doors to auto-lock after I get out of vehicle if I forget to lock them. If I exit the vehicle, do not lock the doors and the key is "out of range" of the vehicle, the doors do not lock again on their own.

The door lock setting adjustment on the head unit seems to only control the time to re-lock the doors when the key is within range.

Can't find the setting but sure it exists.

I do not think the 4 Runner has this option. if you unlock and do not open the doors within a certain period of time, they will relock but I do not think there is a proximity lock unlock function.

It does not auto lock by proximity, it auto locks after a specific speed depending how its programed.

My aftermarket alarm doesn't even auto lock, only proximity auto unlock.

I'm talking about parking the vehicle, turning engine off, exiting and walking away without locking the doors in any way w/fob or by pressing the handle sensor lock.

There is no setting to have the vehicle auto-lock the doors after a certain period of time?

on my 2012 there is not. I have come out multiple times in the morning after parking for the night and found my doors unlocked because I did not lock them the night before. maybe newer models are different but I do not think this is an option
