Double din head unit Android

Isn't Google Maps a Native app on Android Auto? What is the reason for the additional interface (I am not even sure what that is or does)

Ps, what kind of LED's are you using for the instrument panel? That's an awesome color!

I have never heard of ownice brand so I can't comment on the quality. Seems to me that they have all those connections for 4g which is a lot. As far as all the wires.... I have 1 wire that plugs into my phone and charges it while it's plugged in. I don't know what kind of features you are trying to access while you are driving but here in Oregon it's the law that we don't touch our phones while driving. My deck is also a DVD player and behind the face is a micro sd slot. I also have a cord routed into my glove box where my ipod lives. I routed that wire under the center console and it comes out at that little map pocket by the e-brake. The lights are LED and I got them from superbrightleds.com. I cant remember which ones I bought but I like them a lot

I like Android because of customizability, which android auto kinda takes away. So I am opting for a full on Android unit that can support SIM card, which is a must with these units IMO.

Why not just use your phone as a hotspot for the head unit? It doesn't make sense to me to pay for another SIM. You'll never be in the car without your phone. You'll never be using the unit if your not in your car. So why do you consider it a must?

I'm going to directly go against what [MENTION=84796]Coward[/MENTION] said. I have a double din pioneer avh 4100 and it is amazing. I don't need to worry about fumbling with buttons or knobs because it come with a handy remote that operates whatever I need it to operate. Don't get hung up on small details when selecting a head unit. The cheap ones are crap and the more expensive ones are amazing.

In my defense, mine isn't cheap. I have had multiple single DIN units and 2 different big ones. My current Sony I love except for the lack of physical radio preset buttons. It has a volume knob which really is a must for me. I have had volume buttons and remotes and even a touch slider for volume and nothing works as well as the knob. Remotes are great especially if you are tailgating but I always found them silly when you are sitting in the drivers seat. For me put those buttons on the head unit itself.
