Doubt with antenna Wilson

Hello. I'm not sure if your terminology is getting mixed up, or you are thinking you need to send 12v dc out to the antenna? But the antenna DOES NOT need positive (12vdc) power.

If the antenna is all you have, then you will need a coax (RG-58) to run from your Cobra out to the antenna. To mount the antenna, you are right. You will need something like the gum drop CB antenna stud, and depending on which vehicle you have, will determine where you can mount it.

Here's a link for installing that antenna if you don't already have it:

Looking at the picture, it looks like it may be a screwdriver type HF ham antenna which does need 12volts to position the whip at the correct extension for the frequency selected. Need more info to be sure I am seeing this correctly. A product description would help. I reread the post and realize now it is a CB antenna but still looks like it has some sort of height adjustment.

Did you notice that I posted the install manual for that antenna? The only time the antenna is adjusted is during install, and you measure swr. Depending on what you have, low or high, you may need to adjust in or out. And it tells you how to MANUALLY do that with an Allen wrench. Does not need 12volts at the antenna.
Sorry, I just don't want the OP to get confused.

Sorry, I did not notice. Thank you for pointing this out. I brought up the picture the OP had and it appeared to be of the screwdriver type albeit smaller than normal. My apologies for making an assumption and not seeing that in your reply. OP, disregard my post.

BettysNephew - I'm sorry if my response came off as extremely rude. I was suffering from lack of sleep, and a massive migraine!

Anyway, hope the info helped, OP.
